Die Serie basiert auf der M1911, welche aber in vielen Designelementen grundsätzlich überarbeitet wurde, die Grundform wurde aber beibehalten und auch die Handballensicherung ist ebenfalls vorhanden. Im Gegensatz zur M1911 ist der Griff aber deutlich breiter und bietet dadurch Platz für zweireihige Magazine und sorgt für eine deutlich erhöte Magazinkapazität.

Developed for law enforcement, and used worldwide: The GLOCK 22 Gen4, original in the powerful .40 caliber is a true powerhouse. So does its CO2-powered airsoft brother: Up to two joules of muzzle energy and a magazine for 15 BBs guarantee faithful service on the field. The metal slide gives the GLOCK 22 Gen4 a decent weight, and collectors can look forward to original markings from the gunmaker.   The grip of the Glock 22 is made of a composite synthetic material, which is confusingly close to the original. It is roughened at all relevant points, so that a secure grip can be guaranteed even with wet or sweaty hands. The magazine ejector is easy to use, even for smaller hands, without being "floppy". The slide catch snaps cleanly into place after the last shot and can be released snugly, also on both sides. There is a rail in front of the trigger guard so that all common pistol LLMs (dummies) and smaller scopecams can be attached. In the middle of the rail is a serial number - just like the original. Above this is discreetly the F in a pentagon. The grip piece and the slide are rounded in the front area, so that holstering is made much easier when using hard shell holsters. The slide is made entirely of metal and has a very well done coating. Only the three-dot sights, which we already know from the Glock 19 and Glock 19X, as well as the backplate of the slide are made of high-quality plastic. In the front and rear area, the slide has notches, which make reloading or "powerstroking" under difficult conditions much easier. The gun can be disassembled like the original. Initially, releasing the safety clip can be a little difficult, but this plays itself out over time. All parts, including the internals, fit very snugly with no play. Major parts of the trigger group are made of steel, but all are metal. We recommend disassembling and cleaning the gun after 1-2 days of play. Some models are very heavily lubricated from the factory. In this case, it may be a good idea to remove some of the lubricant from the gun. Barrel and inner barrel including HU chamber fit neatly into each other. Unfortunately, we found that the coating on the outer barrel wears off quickly on most VFC models. To counteract this wear somewhat, we recommend putting a few drops of lubricant on the chamber. The trigger of the Glock 22, just like the original, has a tongue safety and breaks crystal clear. The reset is also virtually unbeatable for a pistol "out of the box". A fast and controlled firing sequence is absolutely no problem with this Airsoft replica. The included CO² magazine holds 15 rounds.
